Prayer Ministry

Loving attention to the needs of members is a hallmark of the Olivet community. Twelve trained lay deacons assist the pastor in praying for and actively meeting the spiritual needs of the congregation. A weekly prayer list is published with the Order of Worship for those wishing the community's prayers.

Wednesdays at Olivet

In the middle of every week, you’ll find a warm and inviting community gathered at Olivet. Come in through the courtyard doors, into fellowship hall, and you’ll be welcomed by delicious aromas coming from the kitchen. Take the night off from making dinner, relax and have a great conversation. Dinner begins at 5:30, and if you’d like, stay and join in faith formation programs for all ages from 6:30 to 7:30. *Wednesday night in-person programming is currently on hold.

Groups

The Olivet community offers a wide variety of opportunities for building and deepening relationships. Whether it’s the men’s group that meets regularly in homes, or the women’s group that meets monthly for dinner, a Bible study group, or a parent group, at Olivet, you’ll find your place. See the Olivet events calendar for group meeting times and locations.

Special Events

Olivet is a community that delights in special events and makes holiday celebrations memorable. Every year during advent, the halls are decked with greenery and the season begins with a festive dinner. In the spring, mix and match and meet up with new people at a progressive dinner. Bring the kids for an Easter Egg hunt after worship. In the summer, the community gathers for a picnic and outdoor retreat. The community celebrates birthdays, anniversaries, and all kinds of life events together.

Pastoral Care and Counseling

The pastor, assisted by the deacons, regularly visits home-bound or hospitalized members, and is available at the church on a scheduled or emergency basis for pastoral counseling. Please call the church office at (651) 646-1478 to schedule an appointment.
