Do you long to make a difference in the world, and to be part of something bigger than yourself?
At Olivet, you’ll find a community that seeks to live out the teachings of Jesus in active works of compassion and generosity.

Committees and Volunteer Opportunities
Olivet is a volunteer-led organization. You can be part of Olivet’s ministry in many ways. Get involved in visioning, leadership and decision-making on the church council, or a standing committee. Give your time and energy to help with worship, music and art ministries, faith formation, event planning, or prayer ministry, or building care and maintenance. Or, if you have your own ministry idea, Olivet is a place where you’ll find others to join the cause.
Partnerships with Local Service Agencies
Olivet is known for its generosity of time and money in support of local service agencies. We have partnerships with a number of local organizations. Get involved by volunteering your time or making a donation. Examples of service opportunities at Olivet include food donations and financial support of Merriam Park/Keystone Community Services food shelves, Project Home volunteers for homeless ministry in local churches and delivering gifts and flowers to home-bound seniors in the community, and many more.
Habitat for Humanity
Each year, Olivet participates in a Habitat for Humanity build in the Twin Cities by providing donations, food and volunteers. In recent years, volunteers have also traveled to the Crow Creek Sioux Reservation in South Dakota to help with Habitat’s efforts to provide affordable housing for residents.
Advocacy
The United Church of Christ is known for its historic and continued involvement in social justice. Groups interested in becoming more involved in advocacy ministries are forming at Olivet. If you have an interest in social justice, check out opportunities through the United Church of Christ, and bring your own ideas and gifts to help continue to shape this ministry at Olivet. www.ucc.org/justice
